There’s a saying: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
Networking can be a powerful tool, but it takes a lot of work to maintain one’s network. Most clients’ networks are small, neglected, and are just not ready to be leveraged for desired results. In fact, their networks are the equivalent of a frozen dinner that needs to be thawed out before it can be useful - a time and energy consuming process. Instead of a frozen dinner, his network is more like a simmering stew - ready when needed.
Coach Mike is constantly leveraging his network and growing it through the course of assisting his clients. He brings his own extensive network of over 3,200 connections as a service academy graduate (West Point, Navy, Air Force) as well as the Notre Dame alumni network.
Professionally, his career has allowed him to make and maintain connections in broadcast media, defense & aerospace, and IT / cybersecurity industries. Through his volunteer work hosting a (near) monthly networking event, he brings an extensive network of over 1,400 veterans in the Greater Boston area and beyond.

Anyone who has the desire and drive to improve in pursuit of excellence and to obtain an edge over the competition. While Coaches are commonly associated with athletes, performing artists, relationships, and business executives, anyone can benefit from coaching.
-
You will gain insights and awareness that you otherwise might not have on your own and experience greater accountability.
-
As the saying goes: The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time to plant one is today. The best time to work with a coach is today.
-
Waiting until you feel ready could mean waiting forever.
Progress comes from action, not potential, perfection or motivation.
Take the first step and the rest will follow. Coaches can partner with you to celebrate your progress and keep you accountable and on track towards your goals.
Coaches can also help you generate and maintain a sense of urgency which is critical to change. While most people want to change, they rarely do without a sense of urgency. Urgency comes from recognizing that failure to change will result in significant trouble. It turns “want” to change into “need” to change. Need to change is what drives people to take the first step on their way to something better.

Working together starts with a Discovery call. This is a 30-45 minute conversation in which we exchange information on what clients are looking to achieve and what support Coach Mike can provide to them as well as what working together looks like. The purpose of this conversation is to ensure we have the best possible understanding of what needs to be done, how we’ll approach it, and what outcome we will achieve together.
How often we meet throughout the course of an engagement will vary depending on a number of factors. For those clients in need of career coaching, time may be of the essence. We can expect to meet weekly or bi-weekly. For those clients seeking executive, leadership, or life coaching, that process may not be constrained by time. Therefore, we might meet bi-monthly or monthly, or quarterly.
The average length of an engagement will vary based on type. The average duration for a career coaching engagement is 60 days. The average duration for executive, leadership, or life coaching is closer to 90 days.

Coach Mike views the four pillars of today’s job search as your LinkedIn profile, your resume, your ability to network, and your ability to interview effectively. Your LinkedIn profile and resume are defensive in nature - they exist to keep you from getting rejected. Your ability to network and interview effectively are offensive in nature - they are what gets you the offer.
The proliferation of Applicant Tracking Systems and AI tools have made it far more difficult to keep from getting rejected. Automated rejection is to be expected. The remedy for automated rejection is personalized acceptance through networking and building relationships.

Yes! Historically, around 40% of my clients have been veterans. Being one myself, I have personal insight into the journey of those who have served and are now facing transition to the corporate world as well as those who have made the transition and are now navigating the process of progressing through this new phase of their career.
Veterans comprise at least 45% of my overall network. They have proved themselves to be THE most supportive members of my network hundreds of times over.

I’ve been so fortunate for the opportunity to coach clients from 28 different industries and a variety of backgrounds.
Having spent almost a decade in cyber security prior to becoming a coach, it’s not surprising that IT is the #1 industry that 33% of my clients to date have either come from or wanted to enter into.
The remaining four of my top five industries reflect those industries most prominent in the Greater Boston area:
2) Hospitals & Health Care (8%)
3) Business Consulting & Services (8%)
4) Financial Services (6%)
5) Education (5%)
